Cypress College
Graduates of Cypress College's radiologic technology program can earn an associate of science degree. The two-year program prepares students to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists exam, as well as the California Department of Health Services exam. During the first semester, students attend classroom training, and then begin part-time clinical training at an affiliated hospital during their second semester. During the summer session, students begin full-time clinical training in areas such as CT, ultrasound and MRI. Students complete 12 months of clinical training before they graduate.

Long Beach City College
Long Beach City College offers a radiologic technology program leading to an associate of science degree. The program is approved by the Radiological Health Branch of the California State Department of Health. Ten hours of prerequisites are required, including anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and integration of patient care. During the first year of studies in the two-year program, students take courses such as introduction to radiologic physics, contracts fluoroscope and radiographic procedures, radiologic pathology and positioning for cranial radiography. Students also begin clinical work at a local hospital during their first year. During the second year, classes include computer applications in radiology and intravenous therapy. LBCC also offers certificates of accomplishment in MRI, fluoroscopy and mammography.

Chaffey College
Chaffey College's radiologic technology program leads to an associate of science degree or a certificate. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and by the state of California. The associate degree takes two years to complete, during which students receive classroom instruction and participate in clinical work. The first year consists of classroom and laboratory work, with students beginning their clinical work during the summer term. Students who wish to enroll in the program must take prerequisites in math, medical terminology and anatomy, with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
