Customer service is an important aspect of any company that deals with the public. When you have an issue with a company, even the federal student aid department, you should file a complaint to report your dissatisfaction with the department. Complaints not only let the company know what aspect of their services need improvement, complaints also help you solve the problems you might be having with the company.
Go to the free application for federal student aid (FAFSA) website and click on the “Contact Us” link. Click on the “Live Help” link on the following page to address your complaint with a live representative six days a week. Live help is available Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Call FAFSA at 800-433-3243 to file a complaint over the phone. Follow the automated instructions by pushing the numbers on your phone’s keypad that correspond with the selections that direct you to a customer service representative. Explain your situation and wait while a complaint is filed on your behalf.
Compose an email to [email protected] to file a complaint. Include your name and contact information, and be as detailed as possible when filing your complaint. Check for mistakes or misspellings before sending your email.
