Most colleges have strict enrollment qualifications. This can discourage you if you want to get a higher education but did not do well in high school. Georgia has many colleges that offer a second chance to you if you can meet the minimum requirements for their admission programs. Degree programs vary greatly and the colleges are located throughout the state.
Georgia Southern University
Georgia Southern University is located in Statesboro, Georgia. They offer both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Degrees include technology, teaching, business, management and nursing. Minimum requirements for admission are a 1000 SAT or 21 ACT and a high school GPA of 2.0+. They offer an Eagle incentive program that allows you to take college based classes the Summer before fall admissions to earn a GPA of at least 2.0 for admissions acceptance and college credit.

Gwinnett College
Gwinnett College is a 2 year junior college that provides a transition from high school level courses. They offer several degree programs including paralegal, medical assisting, secretarial and medical office administration. Minimum qualifications for admissions include a high school diploma or GED, minimum GPA of 2.0 on a college prep diploma or a 2.5 GPA with a technical prep diploma.

Savannah State University
Savannah State University is a four year, predominantly black college. It is a public college that was founded in 1890 and is a part of the University System of Georgia. Prospective students can choose from 23 undergraduate degrees and 5 Master's degrees. Degree programs include marine biology humanities, science and business. Minimum admission requirements is a 2.0 GPA, 830 SAT score or a 17 ACT score and a high school diploma or GED. A small number of students may be admitted if they do not meet the requirements. Open enrollment depends on available space.

Truett-McConnell College
Truett McConnell is a private Baptist college in Cleveland, Georgia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The college offers Associate and Bachelors degrees in several concentrations including business, Christian studies, humanities and history. They also offer several online degree programs including management and Christian studies. According to the Truett website, the minimum admission requirements for first time freshman is a GPA of at least 2.0, a college prep or technical prep diploma or GED, an SAT score of at least 720 or an ACT of 15, completion of entrance exams and the ability to complete all required coursework.
