FedEx supports five FedEx education scholarship funds focusing on diversity. The funds are offered to minority students and interns through various organizations that FedEx sponsors. If you are Hispanic, African-American, Asian, Pacific Islander American or American Indian, you may be eligible to apply. You may also apply for a FedEx scholarship if you are an intern with INROADS.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund
FedEx partners with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) to offer scholarships to Hispanic graduating high school seniors. You, a parent or a grandparent must be a descendant of one of the many qualifying countries to apply. High school student applicants will also need a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. In 2018, the average scholarship is $2,500, but they can range from $500 to $5,000. You can use the scholarship for tuition, books, fees, room, board and transportation. In addition to good grades, you should participate in several activities and must write a clear, on-topic essay to win this scholarship.
United Negro College Fund
FedEx does not offer one particular FedEx scholarship through the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), but the company supports the fund financially. The UNCF offers dozens of scholarships annually to high school seniors, current college students and graduate students. You can apply to as many scholarships as you are eligible. Many UNCF scholarships require recipients to demonstrate financial need by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Depending on the scholarship you apply for, the minimum GPA, award amount and other details vary.
APIASF FedEx Scholarship
FedEx funds one scholarship through the Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF). You can apply for this four-year, $2,500 scholarship as a high school senior. You must be of Asian or Pacific Islander descent to apply. APIASF requires applicants to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply. You also need to find one person to fill out an online recommendation form for you, enroll full time as a first-year student and have a minimum 3.0 GPA on an unweighted scale.
American Indian College Fund
FedEx supports the American Indian College Fund (AICF) scholarships for American Indian students attending tribal colleges. Tribal colleges are located mainly in the Midwest, with one in Washington state and several in the Southwest. You must be enrolled full time to apply. You must also be either a registered member of a federal or state-recognized tribe or have a parent or grandparent who is. FedEx-sponsored AICF scholarship are for freshmen and are for $2,250 each. You need to have had a 3.0 GPA in high school and maintain a 2.5 GPA while part of the scholarship program. In addition, the scholarships are offered to students who display leadership skills and are committed to the American Indian community.
Fedex/INROADS Leadership Scholarship
INROADS, Inc. serves minority students by offering internships and career guidance for entering the corporate world. FedEx has partnered with INROADS to offer a scholarship to interns in the Southeast. You must be an INROADS intern in good standing in that region with a GPA of at least 3.0 to apply. Two interns are chosen annually to receive one-time, $2,500 scholarships.
