The Catholic church has long invested in the education of its members, operating everything from small elementary schools to large universities, and teaching the masses with a focus on spiritual growth and development. To help Catholic students further their education, many scholarships are available for use at both secular and religious institutions. These funds help students carry on this proud tradition of learning and prepare them for professional roles in and out of the church.

Catholic Scholarships for Parishioners

Some philanthropic Catholic churches in Indiana fund endowment scholarships for college students through the Catholic Foundation of Northwest Indiana. For instance, the church of St. Teresa of Avila awards scholarships to members of the parish seeking a college education. The scholarship award is not restricted to certain majors. Recipients give back to the church through engaging in activities like mission trips and community outreach. Endowment funds in the foundation are permanent with annual interest being dispersed as scholarship aid. Catholic colleges in Hawaii like Chaminade University also give out endowed scholarships.
